Katy Trail
The iconic Katy Trail, built on an abandoned railroad line, is a 3.5-mile urban greenbelt running through the heart of Dallas—from the Park Cities through Uptown to the edge of Downtown. Featuring both concrete and soft-surface paths, it is managed by Friends of the Katy Trail and is the busiest trail in the city. A treasured destination for both residents and visitors, the trail supports mental and physical wellness, community connection, and alternative transportation.
Friends of the Katy Trail raises funds to maintain and enhance the trail through memberships, annual gifts, corporate and foundation support, naming opportunities, and the annual Katy 5K.
The upcoming Loop Plaza will connect the Katy Trail to the new Hi Line Connector.
