While 2021 was another unpredictable year, the Circuit Trail Conservancy would like to thank our partners and stakeholders who helped make it the most impactful year for The LOOP to date:

We broke ground on the first new project needed to complete The LOOP, the Trinity Forest Spine Trail, a partnership with the Dallas Park and Recreation Department and Dallas County Public Works.

The Hi Line Connector received $12M in TIF funding to connect the Katy Trail to the Trinity Strand Trail. The Hi Line Connector is a partnership with the Dallas Park and Recreation Department, Economic Development Department, and TxDOT.

Oncor Electric Delivery announced it would donate Parkdale Lake to the Dallas Park and Recreation Department to allow the completion of the Trinity Forest Spine Trail. This is the largest parkland dedication in Dallas since 1937.

The South Phase of the Trinity Forest Spine Trail was awarded a $12M RAISE Grant, securing an additional $18M from public partners TxDOT, the City of Dallas, and Dallas County. The new total investment for this phase of the project is now $36M.

To wrap up our exciting year, the final design contract needed to complete The LOOP was awarded to Dallas-based Simon Engineering for the Trinity Gateway, the only connection of The LOOP to West Dallas under CTC delivery.

Last year, we actively began bringing together Dallas neighborhoods that have long been disconnected and improving the quality of life for people who call our city home. This year, we’ll be celebrating:

• The groundbreaking for the Hi Line Connector
• Partnership kickoff for the South Phase of the Trinity Forest Spine Trail
• Revealing the design and construction at the Hi Line Connector and Katy Trail intersection
• Ribbon cutting for the first phase of the Trinity Forest Spine Trail
• Beginning to deliver a wayfinding program for The LOOP and its connections
