The LOOP will now be directly accessible to the thousands of Pemberton Hill residents!

Thanks to the efforts of Dallas City Council Members Resendez, Atkins and Bazaldua and the City of Dallas Public Works Department, the new Complete Street redevelopment of Pemberton Hill Road will be a part of The LOOP!

At a public meeting last month, the Public Works Department shared plans for the hike and bike trail that will run parallel to Pemberton Hill Road. Two plans for the trail were presented, one of which would provide a 12′ wide trail and buffer of green space while the other was a narrower trail adjacent to the street with on-street parking. Following discussions, the community overwhelmingly supported the green buffer and 12′ wide trail, resulting in the plan being selected as the final design for construction.

This $14,000,000 Complete Street project is part of the 2017 Dallas Bond Program and will run from Great Trinity Forest Way to Lake June Road, seamlessly connecting to the AT&T Trail on Elam Road and the Trinity Forest Spine Trail just south of HWY 175.

We are excited about this outcome as all new trails in The LOOP have a 12’ standard that will accommodate use and growth for generations to come. This decision is also a major win for the City of Dallas’s commitment to sustainable, pedestrian-friendly development – we are thankful and proud the Council Members and community share our vision for setting this standard across Dallas.
