The Loop Dallas will unite the nation’s 9th largest city with a city-wide bike and pedestrian active transportation system joining 39 miles of existing trails in Dallas with 11 miles of newly built trails. A catalyst for economic and physical mobility, The Loop Dallas will be a lifeline between communities—connecting people to public transportation, walkable green space and one another.
Active and Maintained Trails Make Dallas Stand Apart
The Loop Dallas is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that supports City of Dallas funding for additional trail beautification, maintenance, security lights and cameras. The organization works with “Friends of” groups to grow their capacity so they can enrich trail experiences with seasonal, evolving landscapes and dynamic community programming.
Greenspace Dallas: In partnership with Greenspace Dallas, The Loop Dallas has committed to a trail-clearing and safety initiative citywide. This effort is making trails safer, more scenic, and more sustainable by removing invasive species and reestablishing native vegetation. This reduces maintenance burdens, enhances visibility and usability, and creates a healthier urban ecosystem.
Friends of The Loop Dallas: The Loop Dallas has formed a new nonprofit structure that empowers smaller trail-based organizations to grow under a shared umbrella. This model allows newly forming “friends” groups to benefit from administrative support and infrastructure, removing barriers to grassroots engagement and enabling more equitable access to trail stewardship across Dallas.
